A low bright ember burns until the horizon is breached then yellow explodes bursting indigo hues. It claws and scratches at the heavy cloak of night, raking and burning the ink into day.
Trifecta’s Trifextra Week 78 asked us to give them 33 word describing a color.
The photographer happens to be a dear friend who has an amazing talent. Her morning sunrise photos always inspire and with her permission I am putting words to one of her beautiful pictures. Thanks Cheri.

I love the ‘scratching at the heavy cloak of night’ part. I like the idea of the sunrise fighting for its time on stage. Oh, and that is a beautiful photo, too 🙂

The prompt landed on my timeline and a scroll further down was one of Cheri’s pics and the inspiration was immediate.

The beams of light in a sunrise or sunset always take my breath away. I wanted strong words to portray them.
